Upon arrival at Velana International Airport, you will be greeted and transferred to your guesthouse on Hulhumale Island. Settle in after your flight before taking your first steps on the sands of this urban tropical paradise. For those arriving early there is an optional walking tour to the island of Vilimale, situated on the west side of Male which is often described as the ‘quieter side of Male’. Overnight in Hulhumale.
This morning you'll return to Male, where you will catch a ferry to the island of Rasdhoo in the North Ari Atoll. Upon arrival, you will have time to settle in before enjoying lunch. Following a briefing about the island and the activities locally available, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. There is a complimentary island tour available for any guests who wish to join. Rasdhoo is also close to some of the best dive sites in the Maldives, so if you’re a diver get yourself signed up at the local dive centre! Divers may wish for an early start tomorrow and opt to join a dive to Hammerhead Point. During the manta season (November to April) there are opportunities for spectacular close encounters with these majestic large rays. Overnight in Rasdhoo.
After enjoying breakfast, the day is yours to do as you please. Relax on the beach, play in the water, and explore the island on your own or opt to join in on some locally available activities. There are regular snorkelling excursions available at an extra cost, giving non-divers the opportunity to discover the colourful marine life and coral reefs in this area. Alternatively, join the catamaran sailing excursion (subject to availability) and spend the day cruising, sunbathing, snorkelling and swimming. This evening before the sun sets we head out in search of dolphins which can often be seen jumping and spinning as the sun sinks on the horizon. Overnight in Rasdhoo.
Today you will transfer by public ferry to your next island getaway - Ukulhas, where you will arrive just in time for lunch. Following a briefing about the island and the activities locally available, the rest of the day is yours to do as you please. There is a complimentary island tour available for any guests who wish to join. Not only does Ukulhas have pristinely beautiful beaches, but the local community here is also particularly friendly and will be delighted to engage in conversation with you and show off their home island. Overnight in Ukulhas.
After breakfast, spend the day as you wish! You could choose from a variety of active excursions such as diving, snorkelling and a variety of water-sports, or if you choose to have a relaxing day, take a picnic to the beach and spend the day next to the glistening turquoise waters. You could book a whale-shark day trip to the island of South Ari Atoll, which is the only place in the world to have a year-round population of Whale Sharks! You may encounter 1 or 2 sharks in half an hour or given that they are wild creatures in their natural habitat you may not encounter one for the whole time searching. However, the unpredictability all adds to the excitement! If you do spot them we will have the opportunity to snorkel alongside them, a truly magical experience.
Enjoy a free morning today to spend how you wish! After lunch, you’ll take the local ferry to head to the third island destination of Mathiveri. You will be provided with a briefing on the island and activities available. There is an island tour included for those who wish to join. Spend the remainder of the afternoon exploring the island, browse the souvenir shops. Stop for a refreshing drink at a local café or just relax by the ocean listening to the gentle lap of the waves on the shore. Late afternoon you will head out for sunset kayaking tour. Kayak through the beautiful lagoon to a nearby sandbank, from where you can enjoy the sun set in the ocean.
After breakfast, the day is yours to do as you please. You can opt to visit Mathiveri Finolhu, a private uninhabited island fringed with a white sandy beach and surrounded by crystal clear water. Overnight in Mathiveri.
Following an early breakfast, catch the ferry for the return journey to Male, arriving by 14:00.
